Searching within & leading with Love
I recently had the opportunity to listen to the On Being episode where interviewer Krista Tippett had conversation with Mirabai Bush, the co-founder of the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society. Bush is the co-author of Compassion in Action: Setting Out on the Path of Service. She also helped create Google’s popular employee program, Search Inside Yourself.
I kept finding myself aware of a type of cultural shift. This was given words on the webpage describing this interview episode where they named a growing awareness of "the rediscovery of contemplative practices, in many forms and from many traditions, in the secular thick of modern culture." Yes!
Does this mean that contemplative practices are "in"? Hardly, but I think it does mean that there is being given more and more credit to their value. I am so glad that through your sustaining support, Oasis has been around for over 25 years to see this place and be in a position to help others and respond to the need for spiritual practices that move us to compassion and Love.
As I listened to the interview, I also found myself grateful for the new training we are offering in Contemplative Leadership. Certainly, it seems timely for the invitation to deepen in practice and grow in leadership.
I invite you to offer prayers for this program and all of our program participants and leaders. Enrollments are coming in for the fall and we are excited to have you be a part of them through prayer and presence. (Look for start dates in the calendar below)
Blessings,
